"HVO's employment and training program taught me practical work skills that helped me to find a job. My job coach was key in helping me find a job that I was qualifed for and comfortable with. Even after I got a job she came by periodically to check on me with words of encouragement and praise. I enjoyed my time at HVO. I met a lot of nice people and learned new skills. I will never forget my time at HVO. It helped me to turn my life around."
- Coleen Mintz

"The program helped me get my job and has helped me keep it. I would recommend this program to other people who want to find a job in the community. The support that I have received while in LTFU, has helped me be successful and I look forward to future opportunities."
- Kim Lamb

"Thanks to the training program at HVO, I now have a full-time job with the Facility Services Department which I love. I can provide for my family better, and have better independence."
- Stacie Brock

"When my daughter and I moved to North Carolina the only job I could find was a sandwich shop and my savings were slowly getting shorter and then I was hooked up with HVO. I was blessed with the job I had at HVO and to be able to look for a job while working took some pressure off. Also to have someone help me due to I did not know my way around N.C. was a great help to me. I love my job now and to be able to help others is very rewarding."
Thank you,
- Dawn DeWitt

"The opportunity to work as a client at HVO truly changed my life. Not only did I gain job experience and new skills, but was also offered a full-time job, beginning my employment on August 13, 2009. Earning a good wage and having employment benefits meant I could stop receiving government assistance, become self-sufficient, and provide adequately for my family and myself. In addition, I gained a new level of self confidence and self-worth, which was something I had been lacking for several years."
